When I was Sec-Gen of the MLP the dedicated and selfless guys who worked hard for the Party never asked anything for themselves, although many had serious financial difficulties and needed jobs but almost all of them were honest guys, idealists. But it was on the upper echelons that we had the crooks and cynics mostly, in there to grab power to serve their own selfish and cavemen egos. Once I learnt from the former Treasurer Ané who gave me names, facts and figures that among his predecessors some have been stealing very considerable sums from the party treasury and those guys were not the poorest of the lot. I still remember with affection some who got nothing from the party and who like Gros Dany died in dire poverty.TMKnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823896801570193056.post-3907004802946813572012-02-28T14:43:28.427+04:002012-02-28T14:43:28.427+04:00So distressing! So distressing!SRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14779076569141181974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6823896801570193056.post-14342494781146948642012-02-28T13:21:35.464+04:002012-02-28T13:21:35.464+04:00"On average, 12.4% of the observed drivers fa..."On average, 12.4% of the observed drivers failed to wait their turn and cut in front of other road users. Those in the less classy cars cut people up less than 10% of the time, but drivers in the most prestigious cars did so around one third of the time.<br /><br />The researchers next recorded whether drivers stopped for a person who tried to walk across the junction using a pedestrian crossing. Drivers of the cheapest and oldest cars were most likely to slow down and give way, followed by those in average quality cars. But those in the most prestigious cars drove on regardless of the pedestrian around 45% of the time."<br /><br />Not surprising at all: anyone can observe this in all peak-time traffic on our roads. But here, the feeling of impunity is permanently engrained.akagugohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14624947179797593178noreply@blogger.com
